Satchells of Burnham Market
Independent Wine Merchant for over 120 years
Welcome to Satchells Online. We’ve handpicked a selection of our bestselling and most interesting wines to include here, but of course this is only a fraction of the hundreds of wines we have at our specialist shop in Burnham Market in North Norfolk.
Established in the 1880s, Satchells now boasts a huge selection of wines and spirits from all over the world, including several single malt whiskies. We’re happy to advise you on choosing the perfect bottle for your tastes and requirements and also offer tutored tastings for private and corporate events, informal tastings and lectures.
To us, wine is not simply a drink. It’s a way of life….

About Satchells
Satchells has everything you need if you like wine. Whether you’ve just discovered the drink, or consider yourself an expert, we can recommend something you’ll love.
Our huge range is exciting and diverse, including fine and classic wines, as well as wines from local and new producers. We even produce our own range (some of which, we’re rather proud to boast, has won several awards).
And we don’t just do wines. Our Burnham Market shop has pretty much every spirit and liqueur you’d care to name, as well as dozens of whiskies and beers.
Pop in, call up or shop here online. We’re always delighted to have a chat and make some personalised recommendations to suit your tastes and budget.
Satchells & Sowerbys
In The Press
“A fiercely independent, good-quality, old-fashioned wine shop. It stocks more than 1,200 wines from all over the world, both organic and non-organic.”
“You’ll find a huge range of exciting, exquisitely-made wines on the shelves at Satchells – from small, artisan producers that really know what they’re doing – and we’ve never been disappointed by a bottle. They even do things like Maury – a rich, sweet red dessert wine from the south of France that you can’t often find anywhere else (and a huge favourite of ours.)”
